The History of Ancient Greece PodcastThis PODCAST is a production by Ryan Stitt. He is a college graduate and has studied classics. He is not what you would call an authority in Ancient Greek History, but I would defend him as a popular historian, who has made an excellent resource for interested people. It is a hobby for him, he has put an enormous amount of effort and hours into his research for the final product.
He uses a narrative style, relying heavily on Herodotus. Often though, he will identify issues and arguments interms of the historiogrphy and the reliability of the information he presents. My advice = listen to it with a map, a wikipedia and a notepad. Relevant to you is episodes: 1. Episode 30 - Herodotus and the Rise of Persia 2. Episode 35 - The Ionian Revolt 3. Episode 36 - The Marathonomachoi (Marathon) 4. Episode 37 - Molon Labe (Thermopylae and Artemiseum) 5. Episdoe 38 - Behind the Wooden Walls (Salamis) 6. Episode 39 - The Greek Counter Attack (Plataea) |
